Rehannah Mian

After two decades as a BBC journalist and factual television producer, Rehannah Mian now writes for the stage, creating character-driven monologues and scripts rooted in real lives and unheard voices. Her work is shaped by her lifetime experience working across diverse communities, from elderly care, to supporting young people excluded from mainstream education , and questions what drives us, even in our most fragile moments.   She developed her debut script with Fifth Word Theatre, exploring oppression and resistance in a group of medieval activist women.

A children’s author, podcaster and member of Nottingham’s GOBS Collective, she has performed spoken word in venues around Nottingham, including Nottingham Playhouse. Her writing moves between the personal and the political, turning her lived experience into emotionally direct, and socially challenging storytelling. Her teenage years on Clifton Estate in Nottingham, where few doors were open, continue to shape her writing - giving a voice to the overlooked.
